My very first transaction with Housewrights was a big and expensive project. After a neighborhood explosion, I not only wanted damage to my house fixed, but my dream house create our of a very ordinary building. Housewrights made a master bedroom/bathroom/dressing room out of my tiny attic, extended the house to create a very nice bedroom/study and a garden room, and added a screened deck. They also had to shore up a retaining wall which turned into another separate project, and in the process found the best boulder for my front year. They paid attention to every detail and made the remodel fit perfectly into the original house. Even though outside it looks much the same as it always did, inside the house is now nothing short of spectacular, and I love it! Housewrights has done other smaller, projects for us since this one, and every time they've done a great job.”

The result was a kitchen with really special touches, like lots of hidden storage, varied ceiling lines to create intimate seating without walls, customized counter/shelving heights to accommodate owner's needs, and custom cabinetry that is perfectly fitted and maximally efficient, to say nothing of just beautiful. Old fashioned craftsmanship and real pride in doing the work even more solidly and beautifully than expected. They did a total basement gut job. We exposed the basement with large energy-efficient windows that turned what was a "bat-cave" into a brightly-lit, usable space. 700 square feet went from totally useless to 1 sunny bedroom, 1 beautiful full bath, a laundry room/mechanical room and a spacious family room. Guests always compliment the level of finish and the attention to detail. Never was there a problem and they finished on schedule and on budget.
